Can Armor Shield IX Protect Against Stone Chips?Updated a year ago
The short answer? No. It really depends upon a list of factors, like stone size, speed, hardness level, trajectory, and if the rock in question comes loaded with Krypton. Even a 9H-rated ceramic coating product like Armor Shield IX cannot protect a car from a rock the size of a softball hurtling toward it from outer space.
That said, a paint protection film (PPF) does an outstanding job of protecting a vehicle’s paintwork from rock chips. Slap a layer or two of Armor Shield IX on top of this rock chip fighting film, and you will provide your vehicle with an impressive 1–2 protective punch.
